HR Fundamentals is an online course designed to provide you with fundamental information about some basic HR functions of which all managers must be aware.  While it was designed as a part of the Lead on Purpose management training, it can be taken as a stand-alone or refresher course. 

There are four modules to the HR Fundamentals on-line course:

  1. Employment Law
  2. Recruitment and Selection
  3. Performance Management, and
  4. Labor Relations

The modules may be taken all at once, or one at a time.  At the end of each module there is a review which requires a score of 80% or better to continue to the next module.  Once the entire HR Fundamentals has been completed you will automatically be issued a completion/pass certificate for your training records. 

If you are taking HR Fundamentals online course as part of the Lead on Purpose program, you will be required to complete it before the in-person instruction begins. 

This course is worth 2.5 hours of training credit.

This course is intended to help supervisors understand state employee privacy and how employee records are handled.  

This course is worth 12 minutes of training credit.

This course is intended to help supervisors understand the various types of holiday benefits available to state employees and how they are handled.  

This course is worth 6 minutes of training credit.

This course is intended to help supervisors understand the various types of paid and unpaid leave available to state employees.  

This course is worth 18 minutes of training credit.

This course is intended to help supervisors recognize and respond to aggressive or threatening behaviors to prevent hostility from escalating to violence.  

This course is worth 12 minutes of training credit.

This webinar focuses on general communication processes and dynamics within organizations and how communication socializes and supports employees and team members. This webinar was presented live in the summer of 2011.

This course is worth 1 hour of training credit.
