Escort techniques                                            

Pressure points

Use of Force Human Factors

This course is an opportunity to keep your skills fresh, or to review techniques that you may have forgotten.

Who should attend: Staff who have already completed a full PPCT and/or HFRG program at MLEA.  Staff who have interest in refreshing their defensive tactics skills.

 Purpose

Educate participants on the Prison Rape Elimination Act so they can demonstrate a competent and professional approach when applying the Prison & Jail Standards as outlined by the Department of Justice.

Participants will understand:

The Department’s zero tolerance of sexual abuse/sexual harassment

How to fulfill responsibilities under the department’s sexual abuse and sexual harassment prevention, detection, reporting, and response policies and procedures

Offender’s right to be free from sexual abuse & sexual harassment

How to detect and respond to signs of threatened and actual sexual abuse

How to communicate effectively and professionally with offenders who might be lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex (LGBTI) or gender nonconforming

Who Should Attend:  Required for all Employees
