What You Will Accomplish After This Training:
Deliver established curriculum.
Know the needs of adult learners and learning theory, characteristics of learners and learning styles.
Manage the learning environment.
Use a lesson plans following the ITIP Instructional Theory Into Practice format.
Know what the performance objectives, teaching methods and instructional strategies are.
Know the appropriate use of training aids.
Who should attend: Staff who are apprentice trainers, adjunct trainers and specialized instructors?

You will then receive an e-mail on Wednesday, June 9, 2021, with detailed instructions to the DOC On-Line Learning Center and how to enter your on-line training.
NEW: This is a new blended learning for this course. Two days (16 hrs) on-line work and three days (24 hrs) classroom.
This is an on-line/classroom blended learning training. You must complete the online training between Monday, June 14, 2021 and Friday, June 25, 2021, to be able to attend the June 29-July 1, 2021, classroom portion of this training.

Educate participants on the Prison Rape Elimination Act so they can demonstrate a competent and professional approach when applying the Prison & Jail Standards as outlined by the Department of Justice.
Participants will understand:
The Department’s zero tolerance of sexual abuse/sexual harassment
How to fulfill responsibilities under the department’s sexual abuse and sexual harassment prevention, detection, reporting, and response policies and procedures
Offender’s right to be free from sexual abuse & sexual harassment
How to detect and respond to signs of threatened and actual sexual abuse
How to communicate effectively and professionally with offenders who might be lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex (LGBTI) or gender nonconforming
Who Should Attend: Required for all Employees
